At New Year's time, we thought it appropriate to ask our racing community for their resolutions. Each participant was asked for one racing-related resolution, and one non-racing one. Up today: Olivier Delloye.
Olivier Delloye, President and Director General, France-Galop
Racing-wise, my number one resolution for 2018 will be to go racing overseas much more than I did in 2017. I have been so focused on the key issues that French racing is facing that I didn't take the time to attend some of the best international racing events. I know how much we can learn from visiting the major racetracks on big racedays, so that will be another priority for me this year. Traveling abroad brings new ideas and inspiration, but on top of that, in this specific year, it will give me the opportunity to promote the New Longchamp (reopening in April) and ensure that the racing fans travel the world to be in Paris on the first Sunday of October for the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
On a personal note, I could say I will try to keep away from my iPhone when I'm supposedly off but I have failed at that for the last 10 years so a more honest and realistic resolution would be to run my first marathon!
