2014 G2 Western Australia Derby winner Respondent (Aus) (Haradasun {Aus}), third in the G3 Strickland S. Saturday, sold to bloodstock agent Damien Wyer for A$57,000, establishing the top price at Sunday's Magic Millions Perth Winter Yearling and Thoroughbred Sales. Wyer said that Respondent will be given a brief rest at Oakland Park before targeting the Perth Summer Carnival.
Offered by Peters Investments–who sold the top five lots at the sale–the colt has won four times from 35 starts and banked earnings of over A$666,000.
In total, the Thoroughbred Sale grossed A$650,600 for 97 lots sold at an average price of $6,707, a significant increase from last year's average of A$2,364. The clearance rate was 85%. The horses of racing age sale was preceded by the Winter Yearling Sale, where 36 lots sold for an average price of A$4,903 and a clearance rate of 90%.
