Reve d'Iman Off to Japan Following 1.7m Gns Purchase

Reve d'Iman (Fr) (Highest Honor {Fr?Numidie {Fr}, by Baillamont), the dam of 2010 G1 Irish 1000 Guineas heroine Bethrah (Ire) (Marju {Ire}), caught the fancy of Northern Farm's Katsumi Yoshida, who outbid Paul Shanahan to land the 10-year-old mare on a bid of 1.7 million guineas. Consigned by Ireland's Jockey Hall Stud as the property of Tull Park Ltd., the full sister to G1SW Reve d'Oscar (Fr) was sold in foal to Montjeu (Ire). The mare had obvious appeal to Yoshida. “We have been after this mare for a long time,” said Shunsuke Yoshida. “We bred [Reve d'Oscar's daughter] Reve d'Essor (Jpn) (Agnes Tachyon {Jpn}) and her stakes-placed relations. And since Bethrah won the Guineas we have been keen to buy her.” Also involved in the bidding beyond the 1-million guineas mark were Crispin de Moubray and Charlie Gordon-Watson.
