Rockingham Ranch's Richard's Boy (Idiot Proof) was placed first in the Pennsylvania Governor's Cup June 3 via DQ after Bold Thunder (Bold 'n Flashy) fouled him in the stretch, but the placings of that event could be reversed once again as Richard's Boy has tested positive for a trace level of methamphetmine. Daily Racing Form first reported the story.
This is believed to be the first positive for a banned medication for conditioner Peter Miller, the commanding leading trainer at Santa Anita's spring meet, which concluded July 4. Miller is having a split sample tested and a written ruling is pending based on the split sample test.
Both Richard's Boy and Bold Thunder are entered in Saturday's GIII Parx Dash.
