What is your one essential to get you through the busy sales season?

Good manners, endless stamina and a large dose of humour.

Which stallions first yearlings impressed you most this year?

I liked the yearlings I saw by Kingman, Sea The Moon and Noble Mission, together with the two young sons of Dark Angel which Sheikh Hamdan raced, namely Heeraat and Alhebayeb–not forgetting our own Mukhadram, who was a wonderfully tough horse himself.

What horse springs to mind as your favourite purchase?

A beautifully athletic and ferociously expensive Invincible Spirit filly (Lot 362 from Book 1), and a very athletic, very immature Showcasing colt (Lot 803 from Book 2).

If you had to select one other agent to buy a horse for you who would it be and why?

There are so many agents I see on sales grounds around the world whose judgment I respect that it seems innocuous to pick out just one. However if I have to name one of the best judges I have ever worked with, it would be that up-and-coming bloodstock agent John Gosden, who has burst on to the scene to such dramatic effect this year!
