Dennis Yokum, doing his shopping for Mercedes Stable, went to $350,000 for a Rock Hard Ten filly to top the early returns at the opening session of the Fasig-Tipton July Selected Yearlings Sale Monday. Consigned by Bluewater Sales LLC, the dark bay is from the family of GSW Ken de Saron (Kenmare {Fr}). Ernest Moody's Mercedes Stable, in partnership with Madeleine Paulson Pickens, campaigned Rock Hard Ten (Kris S.), a MGISW of $1,870,380. The Lane's End stallion's first crop hit the track this year; he has already been represented by the Listed Stakes winner Long Lashes.
