Already successful in a G1 Prix de Diane trial in Saint-Cloud's G3 Prix Penelope, the unbeaten Camprock (Fr) (Myboycharlie {Ire}) bids to both maintain her perfect run and also book a ticket to that June 19 Chantilly Classic in Monday's G1 Pour Moi Coolmore Prix Saint-Alary at Deauville. Having beaten the subsequent listed scorer Besotted (Ire) (Dutch Art {GB}) in the Listed Prix Rose de Mai over this trip at Saint-Cloud Mar. 12, Ecurie du Grand Chene's bay had another winner in that category in The Juliet Rose (Fr) (Monsun {Ger}), back in second in the Penelope over a half-furlong further next time Apr. 18, and it is difficult to know when she will stop at present.
Hugo Palmer has enjoyed the limelight with his 3-year-olds in 2016, and saddles Hawksmoor (Ire) (Azamour {Ire}) sporting blinkers for the first time. Successful in the G3 Prestige S. over seven furlongs at Goodwood in August, she was third in the G2 Rockfel S. also over that trip at Newmarket the following month before filling third spot behind Minding (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and Nathra (Ire) (Iffraaj {GB}) in the latter venue's G1 Fillies' Mile in October. “She's in very good form. I believe she'll stay and we'll find out,” her trainer commented. “I'm really looking forward to starting her season off. She's a very exciting filly. I hope the turning track will suit her and I think the blinkers will help her.”
Last year's G1 Prix Marcel Boussac fourth Left Hand (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) has to bounce back from a disappointing return effort when only sixth behind Come Alive (GB) (Dansili {GB}) in a mile conditions event over Maisons-Laffitte's straight course Apr. 19, and was a place behind His Highness The Aga Khan's Rosvana (Fr) (Dansili {GB}) on that occasion. Out of the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac winner and G1 Prix de Diane runner-up Rosanara (Fr) (Sinndar {Ire}), Rosvana has since finished second to stablemate Asterina (GB) (Dalakhani {Ire}) in a mile maiden on the round course there May 2.
