Roxy Gap (Indian Charlie), who could follow in the hoofsteps of fellow Eugene Melnyk colorbearer Sealy Hill (Point Given) in becoming a Sovereign Award winner as she’s a finalist for 2012 Champion Older Female, Turf Female and Female Sprinter, shone bright during Fasig-Tipton’s Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale Monday when scooped up for $850,000 by Fred Hertrich II. The Taylor Made-consigned member of Melnyk’s offerings won a trio of graded stakes in Canada for her breeder last season. She was catalogued as a racing or broodmare prospect.
