Royal Delta (Empire Maker) concluded an outstanding sophomore season with a deserving win as champion 3-year-old filly. The progressive miss earned her first graded win in the GII Black-Eyed Susan S. in May, added the GI TVG Alabama S. in August and was brilliant under the lights when taking the GI Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic in November. Royal Delta was bred and owned by Saud bin Khaled's Palides Investments NV Inc. before selling to Ben Leon, Jr. for $8.5 million at Keeneland November. Bill Mott will continued to train the filly, who is reportedly being aimed at a return in the G1 Dubai World Cup.
