Stormy Antarctic (GB) (Stormy Atlantic), winner of the G3 Craven S. in April before disappointing when 11th in the G1 Qipco 2000 Guineas, is recuperating from a pulled muscle in his shoulder, with trainer Ed Walker eyeing the G1 St James's Palace S. at Royal Ascot for his return.
“Stormy is building back up,” Walker confirmed. “He pulled a muscle in his shoulder and in the end it was a relief that was all it was, because a few days after the race he was in a bit of a mess and we were quite worried. He's got a clean bill of health now and we're aiming to get him back for the St James's Palace S. If that comes too soon, then we'll go for the [G1] Prix Jean Prat [July 10].”
Stormy Antarctic will be searching for his first Group 1 win. He finished second in last year's G1 Criterium International.
