The Juliet Rose built on a seasonal debut second to the subsequent G1 Prix Saint-Alary runner-up Camprock (Fr) (Myboycharlie {Ire}) in the 10 1/2-furlong G3 Prix Penelope at Saint-Cloud Apr. 18 to win the Listed Prix de la Seine over 11 furlongs here May 10 and G3 Prix de Royaumont over this track and trip June 5. Only 13th in the G1 Prix de Diane over 10 1/2 furlongs also at this venue a fortnight later, the dark bay was second attempting to give Golden Valentine (Fr) (Dalakhani {Ire}) five pounds in Deauville's 12 1/2-furlong G3 Prix Minerve Aug. 14 before her career-best when beaten just over a length when third to Left Hand (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) in the G1 Prix Vermeille over this course and distance Sept. 11. Sent straight to the front by Stephane Pasquier, she was shadowed by Almela throughout but started to extend her advantage approaching the furlong pole and hit the line with a commanding advantage over the Irish raider as the rest were strung out. “She's a very consistent filly who never runs a bad race, bar the Diane where she was not as well in herself and is probably best over this mile and a half also,” trainer Nicolas Clement said. “It is the intention to keep her in training as a four-year-old and I doubt she will run again this season, as she is not entered [in the G1 QIPCO Champions Fillies and Mares S. ] at Ascot and it would come too quick.” Almela's trainer Dermot Weld said of the runner-up, “The winner is a good filly and we were giving her a lot of weight, so I'm happy with that performance.” The Juliet Rose is out of a black-type-winning half-sister to the G2 Pretty Polly S. winner Hanami (GB) (Hernando {Fr}), who also has a yearling colt by Redoute's Choice (Aus) and a filly foal by Sea the Stars (Ire).
