Ruler' Done for Season

Al Shaqab Racing and Coolmore partner's 2013 G1 Epsom Derby hero Ruler of the World (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) will miss the remainder of the 2015 breeding season after suffering an injury in the breeding shed this past weekend Coolmore announced Wednesday. A winner of the G2 Qatar Prix Foy and G3 Chester Vase S. in addition to his Derby triumph, the 5-year-old should be completely recovered to resume covering duties for next year's breeding season said the veterinarians at Coolmore.

“Because many mares have been slow this spring, Ruler of the World still had quite a portion of his 100-plus book left to cover so it's unfortunate that he will miss the last month of the season,” said Coolmore's Christy Grassick. “We are doing our best to accommodate all the clients with mares yet to be covered and thankfully we have several attractive options for them to choose from.”

A resident of Coolmore Stud in Ireland, the chestnut stood for €15,000 in his initial season at stud. His first foals are expected next year.
