Unpenalised in the structure of Sunday's G3 Prix Bertrand du Breuil Longines at Chantilly, Territories (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) has been found a perfect opportunity to restore confidence ahead of some major midsummer and autumn targets for Godolphin and Andre Fabre. Only third on his seasonal bow in the G3 Prix du Palais-Royal over seven furlongs at Deauville last time June 4, last year's G1 Prix Jean Prat hero and G1 2000 Guineas runner-up was entitled to need that first outing since finishing seventh in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II S. at Ascot in October and should strip fitter this time. “This is an ideal race for Territories over the Jean Prat course and distance,” Fabre said. “He has come on a lot for his race at Deauville. The weather forecast is very uncertain and we don't want too much rain to fall before Sunday.”
His most significant rival is the 4-year-old filly Impassable (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}), who is having her first start of the term and who does not escape an extra burden, having won the G2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein over this trip at Longchamp in October. That followed a win in the G2 Prix de Sandringham over this track and trip in May and preceded a respectable sixth behind Tepin (Bernstein) in Keeneland's GI Breeders' Cup Mile, the last time that the Wertheimer homebred was spotted.
