A pair of sophomores aiming for the GII San Felipe S. at Santa Anita Mar. 12 worked in Arcadia Saturday morning. Danzing Candy (Twirling Candy), who earned 'TDN Rising Star' status for a 5 3/4-length allowance tally Feb. 4, covered five panels in 1:00.20 (13/91) under Hall of Famer Mike Smith. “It was a perfect work,” said trainer Cliff Sise Jr. “He just galloped. Mike was very happy with him.”
Uncle Lino (Uncle Mo), a game second in the GII Robert B. Lewis S. Feb. 6, drilled four furlongs in :47.80 (7/89). “It was probably the best work he's ever had by himself,” conditioner Gary Sherlock said.
