On the heels of yet another cancellation at Santa Anita, Breeder? Cup Limited officals announced yesterday that the Arcadia, California track has been awarded the 2009 Breeder? Cup World Championships. The 25th Breeder? Cup will take place Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6-7. Santa Anita, already the host of this yea?s Cup, will be the first track to have the event in consecutive years. “We are excited about the prospect for consecutive years in America's second largest media market,” said Breedersí Cup Chairman Bill Farish. Santa Anita is a fantastic venue, and the Oak Tree Racing Association has been a great partner during our 25-year history.” The Breedersí Cup currently consists of 14 races with purses totalling $25.5 million.
