Moyglare Stud's $1.5-million KEESEP purchase GIOIA STELLA (Medaglia d'Oro) makes her racetrack debut for the Christophe Clement barn Saturday. The newly minted 3-year-old is a

half-sister to GI American Oaks S. heroine Nereid (Rock Hard Ten) and SW and GI Belmont Oaks Invitational S. bridesmaid Sea Queen (Lemon Drop Kid). She faces off against Augustin Stable's homebred Tapit Together (Tapit), a daughter of champion grass mare and MGISW Forever Together (Belong to Me), who ran a deceptively good fifth going this distance over the Belmont lawn when unveiled for Michael Matz Oct. 23. Fellow second-timer Zo Zo Striking (Smart Strike), off the board after a rough break at Gulfstream Park West Nov. 8, represents the Live Oak Plantation-Eddie Plesa, Jr. axis. Out of GISW Zoftig (Cozzene), the homebred is a half-sister to GISWs Zo Impressive (Hard Spun) and Zaftig (Gone West). Click for TJCIS.com PPs.

Derrick Smith and Michael Tabor's NEVER SO FEW (IRE) (Galileo {Ire}), a son of champion and GI Belmont S. victress Rags to Riches (A.P. Indy), debuts for the potent jockey/trainer combo of John Velazquez and Todd Pletcher. His dam is a half to Irish highweight Man of Iron (Giant's Causeway), as well as

GI Belmont S. hero Jazil (Seeking the Gold) and GSW and GISP Casino Drive (Mineshaft). Second dam is the influential GSW and MGISP Better Than Honour, but Never So Few has his work cut out for him, leaving from stall 13. Jimmy Jerkens saddles Cloontia (Sidney's Candy), who gains blinkers after bobbling at the break of his eighth-place Aqueduct debut Nov. 28. The William Lynn homebred is a half-brother to GISW Wicked Strong (Hard Spun). Click for TJCIS.com PPs.

Live Oak Plantation homebred FOREVER BERNARDINI (Bernardini) makes his first trip to the post for Eddie Plesa, Jr. Out of GI Oak Leaf S. winner Cry and Catch Me (Street Cry {Ire}), herself a half-sister to European highweight Certify (Elusive Quality), Forever Bernardini has been working steadily at Palm Meadows. Richard Pell's Bar None (Candy Ride {Arg}) looks to get off the mark for Mark Casse. Purchased for $185,000 from the KEESEP sale, Bar None is a son of Purrfectly (Storm Cat), who has already produced GSW and MGISP Santa Catarina (Unbridled). This is the same family as European champion juvenile filly and Classic heroine Culture Vulture (Timeless Moment). Click for TJCIS.com PPs.
