Scat Daddy Colt Brings $575k at OBS June Opener

Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al Maktoum's racing manager Tim Stakemire, bidding via phone, secured a colt by Scat Daddy for $575,000 during Tuesday's opening session of the OBS June Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Ocala. The dark bay colt earned the co-bullet of :20 4/5 during the first session of the sale'sᅠunder-tack preview last week. He is out of Antoinette (Silver Hawk) and is a half-brother to stakes-placed Notassharpasuthink (Sharp Humor) and was consigned by Steve Venosa's SGV Thoroughbreds on behalf of hisᅠbreeder Douglas Arnold, Jr. The sheikh, represented in the U.S. Classics this year by Mubtaahij (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}), purchased a filly by Quality Road at the Fasig-Tipton Timonium sale last month for $800,000.
