Sea the Stars Colt Shines at Orby

A Roundhill Stud-bred and -consigned son of Sea the Stars (Ire) from Evensong (Ger) (Waky Nao {GB}) went through as one of the final 10 horses at the Goffs Orby opener Tuesday afternoon, but he proved a colt worth the wait, as Michael Wallace Bloodstock, bidding on behalf of the China Horse Club, was stretched to οΎ€850,000 (US$1,073,081) for the Irish-bred chestnut. Consigned as hip 227, the Mar. 1 foal is the latest produce for his dam, a listed winner in France who is a half-sister to Eagle Rise (Ire) (Danehill), champion 2-year-old of his generation in Germany, where he won a trio of group events. He was also winner of the G2 Premio Ribot in Italy. Further down the page is the outstanding German galloper Epalo (Ger) (Lando {Ger}). Hip 227 was the second to cross the $1-million mark on day one of the two-day event.
