Servalan, who was a half-length second to subsequent Listed Rochestown S. runner-up Andre Amar (Ire) (Dandy Man {Ire}) in a May 6 five-furlong heat at Dundalk in her only prior start, lined up for this turf and black-type bow seeking to provide freshman sire No Nay Never (Scat Daddy) with a fourth individual and first black-type winner. Racing at the tail of the seven-runner field after missing half a beat at the kick, she made smooth headway from halfway to challenge wide under pressure at the quarter-mile marker and quickened smartly for mainly whipless coaxing in the closing stages to outgun stablemate Chicas Amigas (Ire) (Dragon Pulse {Ire}) for a first win of any kind. “They are both very good [fillies] and will go to [Royal] Ascot although I'm not sure in what races they will run and we will see nearer the time,” revealed trainer Jessica Harrington of the first two past the post after claiming her second stakes win on the card. “Servalan missed the break a bit, luckily, and Seamie [Heffernan] dropped her in. When he pulled her out she was very easy and quickened up great. It's nice to have two good fillies, they both came on well from their first run and will come on again.”
Servalan is the latest foal and first black-type winner for her dam Catch The Eye (Ire) (Oratorio {Ire}), herself the winner of two races and third in the Listed Knockaire S., and the leading performer produced by Lexy May (Lear Fan). The latter is a half to G3 Musidora S. heroine Secret History (Bahri) and Listed Great Lady M victrix Costume Designer (Capote). Servalan's fourth dam is the smart Lake Valley (Mr. Prospector), who gained Listed success in the Cumberland County S., and also ran second in the GI Test S. and third in the GI Ballerina S..
