A gray son of Tapit, consigned by Old South Farm, strode into the sales ring at Fasig-Tipton Florida Wednesday evening with high expectations. After all, on the colt's first trip through a sales ring, he was audaciously bought back on a bid of $1.2 million at last year's Keeneland September. Hip 131 remained composed for the duration of the bidding Wednesday evening, long enough for David Ingordo to sign the winning ticket on behalf of a partnership comprised of Woodford Racing, Lane's End Farm and Robert LaPenta. An April foal bred in Florida by Sienna Farms, hip 131 is out of Bethan, an unraced Giant's Causeway half-sister to GISW and excellent sire Hard Spun.
