A Ballylinch Stud-consigned son of Shamardal (lot 89) became the highest-priced lot of the opening session of Arqana's August yearling sale late in the session when hammered down to John Ferguson for €720,000. The colt is the second foal from Lavande Violet (Ger) (Hurricane Run {Ire}), a half-sister to Classic winner and last year's champion first-season sire Lope De Vega (Ire) (Shamardal).
