Sheikh Mohammed Pays Up for Secret Gesture

Secret Gesture | Racing Post

Bidding on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, John Ferguson was forced all the way to $3.5 million for GSW & MG1/GISP Secret Gesture (6, Galileo {Ire}–Shastye {Ire}, by Danehill) to shoot to the head of session one of the Keeneland November Sale in Lexington. Consigned to the sale by Hunter Valley Farm, Secret Gesture was offered carrying her first foal by War Front. Bred on the wildly successful cross of Galileo over Danehill, responsible for the likes of Frankel and countless other stars, Secret Gesture (hip 53) became a Group 2 winner for the first time at the age of five, but acquitted herself beautifully in Group 1 company overseas, with top-level placings in England, France and Germany. She famously crossed the line first in the 2015 GI Beverly D. S. at Arlington Park, but was controversially disqualified to third. Secret Gesture is a full-sister to GSW Sir Isaac Newton (Ire).
