GI Breedersí Cup Sprint and GI Met Mile winner Silver Train (Old TriesteñRidden in Thestars, by Cormorant) has died after suffering a bout of colic while returning to the U.S. from Brazil. Silver Train was returning to Northview Stallion Station in Pennsylvania after completing his second Southern Hemisphere breeding season at Siquiera & Mercadante.
ìSilver Train was all class, the consummate professional and will be sorely missed,î stated majority shareholder Hank Nothhaft. ìGiven his proclivity for producing winners, we expected big things from Silver Train for years to come. Given our expansive plans for him in 2014, his sudden passing was a real shock.î
