TAQAAREED (IRE) (f, 3, Sea the Stars {Ire}–Ezima {Ire} {MSW-Ire & GSP-Eng, $273,672}, by Sadler's Wells), whose full-sister is the 2014 G1 Epsom Oaks heroine Taghrooda (GB), Hwt. 3yo-Eng & Fr at 11-14f, MG1SW-Eng & G1SP-Fr, $1,689,428, had been absent since finishing fifth on debut over 10 furlongs at Sandown Apr. 22 and broke smartly as opposed to that day to enjoyed an easy lead. Asked to stretch at the top of the straight, the 10-11 favourite was never out of her comfort zone en route to a seven-length dispatch of Tuolumne Meadows (GB) (High Chaparral {Ire}). Aside from her victory in the Oaks, Taghrooda also captured the G1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth S. before finishing third in the G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe to mark herself out as one of Sheikh Hamdan's better fillies of recent times. Ezima, who was runner-up in the G2 Lancashire Oaks, hails from one of His Highness The Aga Khan's most potent staying families of the G1 Gold Cup winners Estimate (Ire) (Monsun {Ger}) and Enzeli (Ire) (Kahyasi {Ire}). After Taqaareed, there are three more to come from Ezima and they are the 2-year-old filly Mubhirah (GB) (Raven's Pass), a yearling colt by Dansili (GB) named Almoghared (Ire) and a foal full-sister to the winner and Taghrooda.
