Champion Slew oí Gold (Seattle Slew–Alluvial, by Buckpasser), from the first crop of his Triple Crown-winning sire, was euthanized Sunday night at Three Chimneys Farm in Midway, Kentucky due to the infirmities of old age. The 27-year-old stallion was the first to stand at Three Chimneys. ìHe was our very first stallion and he stood the 1985 season here all by himself, and during that season he sired an incredible four Grade or Group 1 stakes winner–an almost unheard of accomplishment,î said Three Chimneys owner Robert Clay. ìHe sired six Grade/Group 1 winners in his first two crops.î
