Cristina Patino's Snow Fairy (Ire) (Intikhab) has been retired after another tendon injury sustained this morning. Successful six times at the top level, the dual Oaks winner had last been seen beating the colts in the G1 Irish Champion S. at Leopardstown in September. “It is with much sadness that a decision was made this morning to retire Snow Fairy,” Ed Dunlop said in a statement. “Unfortunately after a routine piece of fast work today she was found to have re-injured her near fore tendon, which has caused her problems in the last two years.” In total, the 6-year-old amassed nearly £4million in prize money. She will retire to Ireland to be covered next year by her owner's Elusive Pimpernel.
