'TDN Rising Star' Pariah (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}) impressed in a barrier trial at Randwick on Monday. The Peter & Paul Snowden trained colt broke smartly in the 740m trial before being reined back into fourth place by Kerrin McEvoy. The 2-year-old travelled strongly throughout and tanked into a narrow lead just before the line appearing on very good terms with himself. Pariah enjoyed a good 2-year-old season, winning the G3 Canonbury S. at Rosehill on debut before running second in both the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude and the G1 Blue Diamond S. at Caulfield before disappointing in the G1 Golden Slipper at Rosehill in March. The Snowdens also took the wraps off their G1 Inglis Sires' winner Invader (Aus) (Snitzel {Aus}) who limbered up in the previous trial. Kerrin McEvoy also partnered the China Horse Club owned colt and after stumbling slightly coming out of the gates he came home last of the ten runners, though McEvoy never asked him to get close to the leaders. Both colts will be nominated for the Australian Classics this spring.
