So Mi Dar To Miss Prince Of Wales's

Lord Lloyd Webber's So Mi Dar (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) will miss next week's G1 Prince of Wales's S. at Royal Ascot, according to Racing Manager Simon Marsh, who said the 4-year-old filly has not yet recovered from the muscle enzyme problem that ruled her out of the May 25 G3 Brigadier Gerard S.

“She's fine in herself, but she had the muscle enzyme problem and it is just taking a little bit of time for her to get it completely out of her system,” Marsh explained. “There is nothing wrong with her physically, but she's missed a few bits of work and won't be ready for Ascot, unfortunately.”

The John Gosden-trained So Mi Dar, a regally bred daughter of the triple Group 1 winner Dar Re Mi (GB) (Singspiel {Ire}), showed promise when winning her first four starts, including last year's G3 Musidora S., but hasn't been seen since finishing third in the G1 Prix de l'Opera Longines in October. She was scratched from her intended seasonal opener in the May 18 G2 Middleton S. due to soft ground before missing the Brigadier Gerard a week later.

“It's incredibly frustrating, but she has no leg problems or broken bones or anything like that,” Marsh added. “She will be back, it's just a question of when. Having targeted the Prince of Wales's, I don't think we'll be making any definite plans at this stage.”
