Solow Back In Work; Ascot Uncertain

Solow | Racing Post

The Wertheimer brothers' star miler Solow (GB) (Singspiel {Ire}) is back in training with Freddy Head after suffering an injury that ruled him out of a title defense of the G1 Dubai Turf in March. Pierre-Yves Bureau, racing manager to the Wertheimers, said the 6-year-old gelding is still not a certainty for Royal Ascot, where he would defend his title in the G1 Queen Anne S. in June.

“He's back training away and everything is going as it should,” said Bureau. “It is so far so good, but it is still too early to say where his next race might be. If he's ready in time for Ascot then great, of course we'll be there. But it is still a month and a half away and Freddy has not really asked him any serious questions yet.”

Solow, who currently rides a ten-race win streak and has not lost since August of 2014, was last seen winning a Chantilly conditions race Mar. 3. The grey won five Group 1s last year.
