+BEST OF DAYS (GB) (c, 2, Azamour {Ire}–Baisse {GB} {SW-Ger}, by High Chaparral {Ire}), sent off the 3-1 second favourite, was left behind exiting the stalls but quickly recovered to race towards the rear of mid-division. Picking up rival after rival down the outside without being asked a serious question, the homebred brushed aside Wahash (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}) with 1 1/2 furlongs remaining before drawing away for an impressive six-length success. “They couldn't take him far enough and he was still on the bridle two out,” jockey Jim Crowley said. “He has a lovely stride on him and plenty of gears–he really lengthened when he hit the rising ground and will improve over further.” The first foal of the useful dam, Best of Days is yet another Azamour to look to have the potential to scale the heights for Hugo Palmer. His second dam Best Side (Ire) (King's Best) was also a smart listed performer and produced the G3 Dee S. and G3 Sandown Classic Trial winner Azmeel (GB), also by Azamour. Under the third dam are the smart black-type performers Grand Ducal (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}), winner of the G3 Gallinule S. , and Hurricane Floyd (Ire) (Pennekamp). Baisse also has a filly foal by Sea the Moon (Ger). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $5,088. Video, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
