Bidding on behalf of owner Mike Moreno's Southern Equine Stables, trainer Eric Guillot saw off all bidders to land hip 73, a colt by Fusaichi Pegasus, for an even $1 million. Hoby and Layna Kight consigned the gray son of GSW Silver Tornado (Maria's Mon), a half-sister to GISWs Roman Ruler (Fusaichi Pegasus) and El Corredor (Mr. Greeley) as well as GISP Maimonides (Vindication). Hoby Kight went to $435,000 to acquire the colt at last year's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale.
