Southwest Field Redrawn For Sunday

Oaklawn’s GIII Southwest S., which was canceled Monday due to a winter storm in Hot Springs, Arkansas, was redrawn yesterday and will now run Sunday, Feb. 22. The race still boasts a field of 11 with Toby Keith’s unbeaten Hillbilly Royalty (Langfuhr) taking the place of Todd Pletcher-trained “TDN Rising Star” JS Bach (Tale of the Cat), who will run in Saturday’s GII Risen Star S. at the Fair Grounds instead. Trained by Donnie Von Hemel, who also trains the seven-horse Phenomenal Phoenix (Summer Bird), the newcomer will break from the three-hole. Smarty Jones S. winner Far Right (Notional), the favorite on last Monday’s program, will now exit post six. Originally drawn in post 10, Monday’s second choice Mr. Z (Malibu Moon) did not fair much better this time around as he now exits the 11-hole.
