G1 Prix Jean Romanet winner Speedy Boarding (GB) (Shamardal) could soon be heading back to France for the G1 Qatar Prix de l'Opera on Arc day. Although a firm decision is yet to be made, trainer James Fanshawe has a preference for the Chantilly race ahead of the G1 QIPCO British Champions Fillies & Mares S. at Ascot 13 days later.
He said, “We are aiming for the Prix de l'Opera, but we are also in the Fillies & Mares at Ascot. She will do one or the other, but the aim at the moment is to go for the Opera. She won the Romanet well. Freddie [Tylicki] rode a lovely race on her. He went and got a lovely position and she won going away. Obviously the Opera will be a lot tougher but she seems in good form and she is improving.”
