Defending winner Order Of St George (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) heads the 18 confirmations for next Thursday's G1 Gold Cup at Royal Ascot. The Ballydoyle charge finished third in last year's G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and most recently won the Listed Saval Beg S. at Leopardstown on May 26. The 5-year-old could be joined by stablemate Kingfisher (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), as well as Jessica Harrington's Torcedor (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}), who bested Order Of St George first-up in the G3 Vintage Crop S. on Apr. 23. Also engaged are last-out G3 Henry II S. winner Big Orange (GB) (Duke Of Marmalade {Ire}) and the last two G1 St Leger winners, Harbour Law (GB) (Lawman {Fr}) and Simple Verse (Ire) (Duke Of Marmalade {Ire}), as well as Godolphin's Winning Story (GB) (New Approach {Ire}) and Qewy (Ire) (Street Cry {Ire}).
Thursday's Royal Ascot card also features the G2 Ribblesdale S., with the regally bred Mori (GB) (Frankel {GB}–Midday {GB}) and Aidan O'Brien's G1 Investec Oaks third Alluringly (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) featuring among the 15 remaining entries. Trainer John Gosden's four remaining contenders include Oaks fifth and 'TDN Rising Star' Coronet (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}).
