Following a successful operation to fuse his fractured pastern, St Nicholas Abbey (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}), has suffered a ìmajor setbackî in his recovery. The three-time G1 Coronation Cup winner suffered a bout of colic overnight and has since undergone emergency surgery, according to the latest updates tweeted on Coolmore Studís twitter feed. ìUnfortunately St Nicholas Abbey had a major setback in his recovery during the night, suffering from a bad colic. He underwent emergency colic surgery at Fethard Equine Hospital this morning and the prognosis is very guarded at the moment.î
