Stardom Bound (Tapit), who rallied from last-to-first to impressively annex the GI Del Mar Debutante S. Sept. 1, may be scratched from Saturday's GI Oak Leaf S. after getting kicked in the right hind by a pony following a Friday morning gallop, according to Daily Racing Form. X-rays taken after the incident revealed no damage, but a decision would be made Saturday morning as to whether she'll take her place in the Oak Leaf starting gate. “The X-rays were clean,” trainer Chris Paasch told DRF. “There was no damage. She did jog sound a little while ago. We're still concerned.” He added, “I want to protect her. This is the nicest horse I've ever trained.”
