Godolphin's Cloth Of Stars (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) has been ruled out of the G1 Prince of Wales's S. at Royal Ascot next Wednesday, June 21. The in-form 4-year-old, trained in France by Andre Fabre, was a major player for the big mile-and-a-quarter Group 1, but he has not been giving off the right vibes at his home in Chantilly.
Fabre told www.godolphin.com, “The horse had an excellent spring campaign and really deserved his Group 1 win [in the Prix Ganay.] Initially, he seemed to have taken it well, but I feel now that he's already peaked and is asking for a bit of time to recover. He'll be given an easy few weeks and brought back for an autumn campaign, and we'll look to stepping him back up to 12 furlongs.”
