The stayers get their turn during Deauville's Sunday card in the G2 Darley Prix Kergorlay, where Godolphin's Endless Time (Ire) (Sea the Stars {Ire}) bids to continue the momentum she set in motion when winning the G3 Lillie Langtry S. over 14 furlongs at Glorious Goodwood on Aug. 3. Second in the G1 Prix Vermeille at Chantilly in September and G1 Prix Royal-Oak at Saint-Cloud in October, she has a class edge over these rivals and trainer Charlie Appleby said, “Endless Time put up another brave performance at Goodwood last time out and came out of the race well. I couldn't be any happier with her and it looks like she will have conditions to suit. A repeat performance of her latest run is going to make her very competitive.”
Her biggest threat may emanate from Germany, with Andreas Wohler saddling the progressive marathon runner Red Cardinal (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}). Second in the G1 Preis von Europa over a mile and a half at Cologne in September, Australian Bloodstock Stable's dark bay beat Nearly Caught (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}) in the two-mile G2 Oleander-Rennen at Hoppegarten on May 14 before following up in the GIII Belmont Gold Cup Invitational at that trip on June 9.
