Hronis Racing's Stellar Wind (Curlin), last year's champion 3-year-old filly, worked six furlongs in 1:13.40 under jockey Victor Espinoza Sunday at Santa Anita. The 4-year-old worked in company with stablemate That's a Lady (City Zip), who was credited with a 1:13.60 work.
Stellar Wind, off since finishing second, beaten just a neck by Stopchargingmaria (Tale of the Cat), in last year's GI Breeders' Cup Distaff, is expected to make her 2016 debut in the June 4 GI Vanity Mile.
“She went very well,” trainer John Sadler said Sunday. “She went out [seven furlongs] in [1:] 26 and change. She usually works in company when she's getting ready to run. She's right on schedule.”
