Champion War Pass (Cherokee Run), the 6-5 morning-line favorite for Saturday's GI Wood Memorial at Aqueduct, arrived in New York Thursday after an eventful flight from Florida. Bounced around by turbulence, the colt ended up with stitches in his chin after the bumpy ride. ìWe had to put three staples under his chin because he hit his head on the plane,î said Hall of Fame trainer Nick Zito, adding the cut is superficial. ìHe looks great and he's acting great.î
