Buying out daughters Helen Alexander and Dorothy Alexander Matz, Helen Groves went to $775,000 to acquire hip 4, an Alexander/Groves/Matz-bred filly by Street Cry (Ire), at the opening session of Fasig-Tipton's Saratoga Selected Yearlings Sale Monday night. The bay is out of GSP Alchemist (A.P. Indy), whose first foal, a colt by Distorted Humor, went for $1 million at Keeneland September 2007. The bloodlines have long been in the family–the fourth dam is blue hen Courtly Dee (Never Bend).
