Donato Lanni, bidding on behalf of Frank Fletcher, secured a colt by the late champion Summer Bird for $500,000 during Wednesday's second session of the OBS Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training. Hip 395, consigned by Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds LLC, is out of See Rock City (Tapit) and is a half to graded stakes placed One More (Holy Bull). The juvenile shared the day's bullet furlong breeze of :10 flat during last week's under-tack preview. Hartley/DeRenzo purchased the youngster for $60,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July sale.
