The Summit of Speed program held Saturday at Gulfstream produced total handle of $9.702 million, up 18% from 2015, the first year Gulfstream hosted the card. Total handle was up 108% from 2013, the last year the Summit of Speed was held at Calder, according to statistics released by Gulfstream Saturday.
“It was an exciting day of racing featuring incredible performances by some of the country's biggest stars,” Gulfstream President and General Manager P.J. Campo said of the card, which featured two 'Win and You're In' races for the Breeders' Cup championships. “We want to thank the horsemen from across North America for supporting the Summit of Speed and all the great fans who watched and wagered on today's races. We hope to continue building on the success of the Summit of Speed as well as summer racing in Florida.”
