The Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot S. on Oct. 1 is a potential next port of call for Arabian Queen (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) following her creditable effort in the Listed EBF Stallions John Musker Fillies' S. at Yarmouth on Wednesday. Best known for inflicting a shock defeat on Derby hero Golden Horn (GB) (Cape Cross {Ire}) in last season's G1 Juddmonte International at York, David Elsworth's filly had been off the track since a disappointing run in the G1 Coronation Cup at Epsom in early June. She made her return in listed company in Norfolk and while no match for the impressive So Mi Dar (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), she was not beaten far into third place.
“She ran a very good race,” said Elsworth. “I think the filly that won is a very talented filly. We know that ours is. I'm embarrassed to say that I stumbled across that race. The conditions suited her well. She has struggled with issues, but she was in good form. I hoped her freshness would outweigh her enthusiasm. She ran a good race and stuck at it. We've got her in the Sun Chariot and she will probably go there.”
Continued Elsworth, “We may go to Woodbine [GI Pattison Canadian International Oct. 16], while I could supplement her for the [G1] Fillies' and Mares' at Ascot on Champions Day [Oct. 15], which she finished sixth in last year.”
