'Sunset' Headlines San Clemente

Sunset Glow (Exchange Rate), a neck better than Her Emmynency (Successful Appeal) in last summer's GI Del Mar Debutante, square off again in Sunday's GII San Clemente H. The speedy Sunset Glow, also the winner of the 2014 GII Sorrento S. at Del Mar, chased home the unbeaten Lady Eli (Divine Park) in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita Oct. 31, then finished third behind that rival in Keeneland's GIII Appalachian S. Apr. 12. She makes her first start since placing second in Belmont's seven-furlong Wait a While S. May 16. “She didn't run bad in either race back east,” said Blake Heap, who handles Wesley Ward's horses on the West Coast. “She shipped in well and she's eating good and acting happy. She hasn't been here long enough to see if she's training any different [from last year], but she doesn't look any different.” Her Emmynency closed out her 2-year-old campaign with a win in Santa Anita's Surfer Girl S. Oct. 5. She took a $40,000 optional claiming off-the-turfer at Arlington last time June 20. Prize Exhibit (GB) (Showcasing {GB}), a respectable fourth at 71-1 in the Juvenile Fillies Turf, broke through with a sharp performance in Santa Anita's GIII Senorita S. June 27.
