Superfection Indeed: Medaglia d'Oro 1/2 to Super Saver Goes for $1.2 Million

An impeccably bred son of Medaglia d'Oro who counts GI Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver (Maria's Mon) as a half-brother touched off the most spirited bidding of the evening at Saratoga. Catalogued as hip 56 by Taylor Made Sales Agency and already named Superfection, the son of Supercharger (A.P. Indy) was purchased by Darley rep John Ferguson for $1.2 million. The Apr. 11-foaled colt is also a half to GSW Brethren (Distorted Humor) and is bred on the same cross as GI Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty. He was bred by WinStar Farm LLC, who campaigned both Super Saver and Brethren.
