Additional Fasig February Supplement

Kayce Lu (Lonhro {Aus}), a 6-year-old mare in foal to Constitution, has been supplemented to this week's Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, the half-sister to graded stakes winner and 'TDN Rising Star' Comical (Into Mischief) will be offered as hip 651. The Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale will be held Monday and Tuesday, with bidding beginning each day at 10 a.m. at Newtown Paddocks. The supplemental catalogue will be offered Tuesday following the conclusion of the main catalogue.

Breeding Stock Sales Season Wraps Up at Fasig February

The final auction of the breeding stock sales season kicks off Monday at Fasig-Tipton with their two-day Winter Mixed Sale. A total of 542 horses filled the initial catalogue and that number has risen to 651 with the addition of late supplements. Hips 1-324 will sell Monday and Tuesday's session starts off with Hip 325 and runs through the end of the supplemental catalogue. Senator Nolan to Disperse Stock at F-T February

Senator Howard C. Nolan, who grew up in nearby Mechanicville, attended his first horse race with his father at Saratoga in 1946--when the track re-opened following World War II--and caught the racing bug. Brushwood Stable's Betty Moran Passes Away

Elizabeth 'Betty' Ranney Moran, who raced the likes of 1985 GI Belmont S. winner Creme Fraiche (Rich Cream) and bred the likes of champion Unique Bella and Hard Spun, passed away peacefully at her home in Malvern, Pennsylvania, Thursday, Jan. 23. Ashton Moynihan Passes Away

Ashton Moynihan, the funding director of the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, passed away Friday afternoon after a long battle with cancer. Moynihan grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she graduated from Sweet Briar College. Her father, Harrison "Chief" Nesbit was a football player and then coach at the University of Virginia. Her first job was selling advertising for an equine publication. Her love of horses led her to New York, where she worked for a Thoroughbred racing partnership, and finally to Lexington, Kentucky. Keeneland, Fasig-Tipton and OBS Announce Major Reforms to Medication and Riding Crop Policies for 2-Year-Old Sales

Officials from Keeneland Association, Fasig-Tipton Company Inc. and Ocala Breeders' Sales Company Inc. have jointly announced significant changes to policies regarding medication, including restriction of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and a ban on bronchodilators at all 2-year-old sales, and limited use of riding crops at under-tack shows. The revised Conditions of Sale for each sales company take effect March 2020.
