High Class Jersey Stakes-Bound Green Sense Tops Goffs London Sale At £700,000

The Jersey Stakes-bound Green Sense (Starman) topped the Goffs London Sale in Kensington Palace Gardens on Monday evening at £700,000. That was despite the fact the Joseph O'Brien-trained Group 2 winner was led out of the ring unsold at £675,000 initially.  However, a private deal was brokered during the sale, with Brittany Linton, chief executive of US outfit Boyd Racing, signing the docket.  "David Redvers is a good friend and he gave us some advice and connected us to the owners," said Boyd Racing's Randy Boyd. "We're very excited about...

'Real Potential': Alparslan One Of The Star Attractions At The Goffs London Sale

It seems a mere blink of an eye ago, but the inaugural Goffs London Sale took place in June 2014 in groundbreaking fashion. War Horse made an appearance, and was for a few brief moments ridden by Johnny Murtagh, while the first foal by Frankel to appear in any sale ring was, understandably, a show-stopper which made the national and television news. Starman Blowing Our Minds with Sequence of Group-Winning Juveniles

When it comes to the 2025 crop of first-season sires in Europe, there's one stallion who is now operating in truly rarefied air, fittingly so for a horse going by the name of Starman. With 16 individual winners on the board in Europe, the son of Dutch Art is currently six clear of Nando Parrado and eight clear of A'Ali, with Palace Pier, Space Blues and Supremacy then locked in a three-way tie for fourth with seven winners apiece. Lucky Vega has six, while Ubettabelieveit and Victor Ludorum each have...

Royal Ascot Two-Year-Olds Under The Spotlight

The furore surrounding the changes to the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes shows no signs of abating, but for this year at least the six two-year-old races at Royal Ascot remain much as they've always been, which is beneficial for trends followers studying the data in an attempt to find winners next week. We lost one of the so-called bankers when Albert Einstein, last seen winning the G3 Marble Hill Stakes at the Curragh, was ruled out of the meeting due to a sprained joint, but his absence shouldn't detract too...
