WinStar homebred Noble Indy (c, 2, Take Charge Indy–Noble Maz, by Storm Boot) romped home as the 3-2 favorite in his debut at Gulfstream Sunday. Fractious behind the gate, Noble Indy was all business once the race started. He jumped out to the early lead and set the pace through fractions of :23.37 and :46.20. Asked for more nearing the stretch, the bay colt shrugged off the challenge of Pete Marwick (Soldat) and sailed home an eight-length winner. Watschen (Tapit) was third. The time for the seven furlongs was 1:22.15. Noble Indy, the 21st winner for his freshman sire, is the second foal out of stakes-winning Noble Maz. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $28,800.
