Rabbit Run lived up to her pedigree in a big way Sunday, rallying belatedly to become the fifth group winner for her dam in the G2 Kansai Telecasting Sho Corp. Sho Rose S. at Hanshin. Rating near the rear of the strung out field through the first half-mile in :46.40, she began to inch her way towards the head of affairs. Coming with a strong run under Ryuji Wada out in the center of the course leaving the far turn, the $750,000 KEESEP yearling was closing fastest of all in the dying strides. Rabbit Run blew past stretch leader Kawakita Enka to win by 1 1/4 lengths, with Lys Gracieux completing the trifecta 3/4 of a length behind. Favoured Fan Dii Na (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}), a winner of the G3 Flower Cup at Nakayama in March, ran out of steam after making up some ground in early stretch and ran sixth.
A winner at first asking going 1400 metres over the Kyoto dirt on Nov. 26, Rabbit Run ran second returning as a sophomore in a Tokyo mile heat May 7 and turned in a sixth-place effort at Kyoto upped to 1800 metres May 21. She made her grass bow a winning one cut back to a mile at Chukyo July 22 and was 25-1 stepping up to group company Sunday.
